Built from late nights, personal reflection, and a desire to capture a specific moment in time, Xander Pages’ Do Not Lose the Plot feels like a window into a year of change. The Los Angeles-based artist and producer’s debut self-produced EP documents the highs, lows, and everything in between as he navigates growth, creativity, and the search for a clearer sense of direction. Created from early demos recorded in the garage of his childhood home, the project reflects an artist experimenting freely while turning real experiences into something lasting. More than just a collection of songs, Do Not Lose the Plot presents a glimpse into Pages’ evolving perspective and the moments that shaped him along the way.

Raised throughout LA’s coastal neighborhoods, Pages has always been surrounded by different forms of creativity and movement, influences that continue to shape the way he approaches music. Rather than limiting himself to one sound, he pulls from a wide range of styles—including jazz, soul, hip-hop, reggae, bossa nova, and alternative R&B—to create a world that feels both nostalgic and forward-thinking. His production carries a warmth and looseness that allows the emotion of each track to remain at the center, creating space for moments of reflection, celebration, and vulnerability.

The EP begins with “The Plot Thickens,” a track that immediately establishes Pages’ ability to blend smooth jazz-inspired textures with funk rhythms and confident, expressive vocals. From there, the project moves through different emotional landscapes. “Answer” and “Company” explore heavier moments through stripped-back arrangements and introspective writing, reflecting periods of heartbreak, isolation, and personal struggle. On the other side of that spectrum, “Flying High” featuring St. Germain captures a sense of freedom and appreciation for the simple moments, while “Eternal Sunshine” brings warmth through soulful melodies and a more hopeful perspective. Closing track “Days of Our Lives” ties everything together, combining reflective storytelling with rich soul samples as Pages looks back on the journey while continuing to move forward.

Inspired by coming-of-age films, vintage television aesthetics, and the unpredictability of personal growth, the EP feels like a collection of memories preserved in sound. It’s a record about finding direction without having everything figured out, and about creating something meaningful from the experiences that shape us.
