Angel Wong‘s fourth single, ‘Seeing Red‘, is out on Friday 2 October 2026. Based in London, yet raised in Hong Kong, Angel’s sound is cross-genre pop, fusing Eastern and Western influences. The alt-indie pop track features traditional Chinese instrument, the Guzheng, alongside distorted guitars, bringing angular harmonies and indie-rock tinged vocals to the track. The music video for the single will be released on Wednesday 7 October 2026, and more announcements will be made on Angel’s social channels.

Angel writes pop songs across a range of genres. Built on hooks, the songs incorporate inspirations from across the musical spectrum. With years under her belt on the London jazz circuit, Angel has performed at the EFG London Jazz Festival, collaborated with Grammy-winning artists, and is now establishing herself as a solo artist.

Following the success of the TuneFountain reviewed debut single ‘Hide n Seek’ on 8 May, the follow-up ‘North of the River’ solidified Angel as an emerging London pop artist. A pop-funk-meets-synth-pop offering, the track was a satire of social posturing, with LOUDWOMEN praising the track’s energy and guitar lines. Referred to as such in an article by Niji Magazine, Angel’s signature songwriting featured on the 21 August single ‘Know That’, a track exploring the feelings of guilt and resentment one might feel towards ending a relationship.

‘Seeing Red’ finds Angel confronting themes of masculinity and consumer culture, from the red-pill movement to the modern phenomenon of “broicism”. The track also explores how elements of ancient Stoicism, once used as a means of seeking guidance on navigating life’s challenges, have been taken out of context in the manosphere to justify emotional repression and self-optimisation. The track asks, what happens when our emotional lives are so intrinsically tied to productivity, status, and personal value? Angel also touches upon the topic of performative desire and the ways our identities are constructed in a world driven by material values.

‘Seeing Red’ is a guitar-heavy track, laced with distortion, but also contains textural acoustic sounds and a level of unconventional harmonic movement. It explores the myriad of contradictions within modern life, with lyrics that range between stories of suburbia, and substance induced escapism.

‘Seeing Red’ is out on Friday 2 October 2026, with its music video to follow on Wednesday 7 October 2026.
