Erika Weber releases album ‘Love It Or Lose It’
Listen Here: Love It Or Lose It
Seattle, Washington artist Erika Weber releases album ‘Love It Or Lose It’. The title also frames the record’s central idea, love me and who I am, or leave me alone.
About ‘Love It Or Lose It’
LOVE IT OR LOSE IT
Erika Weber has spent the last two and a half years writing through the things happening around her. Love It Or Lose It collects those moments into an album about relationships, friendship, self worth and figuring out what she will and won’t accept from the people in her life.
The title is pretty literal. Love her for who she is, or leave her alone.
A lot of the songs began with something specific that Weber was going through at the time, so the record moves more like a collection of diary entries than one continuous story. Some come from romantic highs, others from disappointment or self doubt. Friendship also has a big place on the album, particularly the people who kept her grounded when her own confidence wasn’t there.
“This is an album of pure self expression and the navigation of the uncertainty, hope, and self doubt of your mid-twenties, along with the friendships that keep you grounded, and remind you that who you are is more than enough.”
Love It Or Lose It is the first project Weber has made with producer Joshua Valel Thomas. Weber had self produced her earlier work, making this the first time she has brought somebody else into that side of the process.
Dance With Me is the album’s focus track and probably the clearest introduction to where her sound has landed. It starts from the acoustic songwriting that has always been part of Weber’s music, but brings pop percussion around it. She wanted the song to be immediate enough to simply put on and enjoy, without stripping away the meaning underneath it.
The photographs follow a similar idea. They play with the different versions of ourselves that other people get to see, and the gap between that and whatever might actually be happening privately. Weber describes the images as unencumbered, nonchalant and playful. Sean Richards photographed the project, while Weber shot and edited the album cover herself.
Originally from Seattle and now living in Los Angeles, Weber has been writing music for more than two decades. Stevie Nicks, Carole King and Amy Winehouse are what she calls her “big three”, with Sheryl Crow, Taylor Swift and Kelly Clarkson also among the artists she grew up listening to.
Love It Or Lose It won’t be the end of Weber’s work with Joshua Valel Thomas either. They are already approaching the next material differently, building songs together from the beginning around Weber’s lyrics, melodies and chord arrangements.
About Erika Weber

Erika Weber is a singer songwriter originally from Seattle, Washington and now based in Los Angeles, California. She is a solo artist whose music has centred on acoustic instrumentation, expressive pop percussion, and lyric driven storytelling. Across her songs, she has explored love, friendship, and the work of understanding who you are while moving through the world.
Her writing has been shaped by Stevie Nicks, Carole King, and Amy Winehouse, artists she has cited as her big three because of the way they carved their own path while staying true to personal storytelling. She has also pointed to Sheryl Crow, Taylor Swift, and Kelly Clarkson among the wider names she responds to, alongside the pop, indie pop, and singer songwriter spaces she works in.
Weber had been writing music for over two decades and had released previous self produced projects before this record, which she says is the first time she has worked with a producer to shape a more polished sound. Next, she plans to make music from scratch with Joshua Valel Thomas, starting with lyrics, melody, and chord arrangements already in place.
