British independent singer-songwriter TaniA Kyllikki and her husband, producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rynellton (Garry D. Hairston), have released “HUMAN,” an emotionally charged techno-house and soul hybrid created around a message of unity, compassion and shared humanity.

Released worldwide through Awe Inspiring Records, “HUMAN” was an unexpected addition to Kyllikki’s forthcoming second album, FREE-SPIRITED, scheduled for 2027. The song came together spontaneously while the couple were working in their bedroom studio.

Kyllikki had been increasingly disturbed by hostility and division she was seeing on social media toward people from different races, cultures and backgrounds. Deeply influenced by empathy, faith and human connection, she responded by writing a heartfelt Facebook post about the importance of recognising the humanity people share.

As she reread what she had written, several lines began to sound like lyrics.

Rynellton was sitting at his keyboard when Kyllikki looked across the room and suggested they create one more song. She already had its title: “HUMAN.”

Her musical vision was equally unconventional. Kyllikki wanted deeply emotional, gospel- and soul-influenced vocals, but she wanted them placed over powerful techno-house production rather than a traditional soul arrangement. Once she sang Rynellton the vocal melody, the idea began to take shape.

The result is a genre-crossing track that combines soulful vocals with electronic rhythms, atmospheric textures and pulsating energy.

A Song About Shared Humanity

At the centre of “HUMAN” is a question rather than a political argument: what does it mean to be human?

The opening lyric sets the tone:

“Human, that’s what we are, made up of many races, all different faces, trying to live out our lives.”

The chorus continues with a call for personal reflection:

“What does it mean to be human? What does it mean for you and for me? To be human, how can we live in harmony?”

Rather than directing blame outward, the song asks listeners to consider their own ideas about equality, compassion, humility and coexistence.

The spiritual dimension becomes particularly clear as the song reaches the line:

“Break the dysfunctional, come together and pray, God help us all, please make a way.”

For Kyllikki, the purpose of “HUMAN” is ultimately connection. Differences in race, culture, background and experience may shape people’s lives, but the song asks listeners to look beyond those distinctions and recognise their shared humanity.

Where Soul Meets Techno-House

Known as the “British Songbird,” Kyllikki brings her reported five-octave vocal range to the recording, moving between intimate passages, powerful belts, vocal runs and soaring upper-register moments.

Rynellton’s production provides a contrasting electronic foundation, combining hypnotic rhythms and atmospheric soundscapes with the emotional qualities of soul and gospel.

The pairing reflects the couple’s wider approach to music. Their work moves across soul, pop, R&B, hip-hop, funk and electronic styles, with neither artist particularly interested in remaining within strict genre boundaries.

On “HUMAN,” that creative freedom becomes central to the record’s identity.

A True Husband-and-Wife Collaboration

The track is co-written by TaniA Kyllikki and Rynellton, with Rynellton handling full music production and Kyllikki serving as vocal producer while performing both lead and backing vocals.

The pair also handled recording and pre-mixing, while the final mix and master were completed by AMM Studios in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Kyllikki also took and professionally edited the cover and press photography.

More than simply a singer-producer collaboration, “HUMAN” reflects the creative relationship between two musicians who have spent years developing a shared musical language.

What started as an unplanned bedroom conversation has now become a worldwide release—and an early glimpse into Kyllikki’s forthcoming FREE-SPIRITED album.

With its combination of soulful vocals, electronic energy and a message centred on compassion, “HUMAN” turns a personal moment of concern into a broader musical invitation: to pause, reflect and consider what it really means to live together as human beings.
